this week in science # 15

This week in science we did a lot of things. We did the marshmallow challenge and it was fun because my group had the biggest tower. We also did the year end video. The video was really fun i made two of them. We made the video for our next year teacher so they would know what we already know and how we like to work.

This week in science we learned somethings like we need a lot of tape if u want to win the marshmallow challenge. We also learned a lot because when we were making the video we spoke about all the projects and all the cool stuff that david taught us. We spoke about the spider habitat , flowers from the beginning of the year, and a lot more stuff. We learned that we learned a lot of things.

this year in science 10th grade intro

My name is Timothy and im in the the 9Th grade and in a couple months I will soon be in the 10th. Some of my interest are drawing building cool stuff and listening to music. From the first video i made in the beginning of the year i have changed a lot. I now know how to make my own rockets and start a habitat. i also can make a big tower with a marshmallow on top. There was lots of things I enjoyed this year. I enjoyed all the projects we did and i also enjoyed the spiders we got. Some of the things that i struggled with were some of the test we took and sometimes writing the blogger because i would forget some of the stuff we did the week. I would like for the teacher to know i hate writing and i like using the computer and i like doing lots of projects. But it would be cool to have no notebooks and just use computers. I would like my teacher to know the we should do more projects with animals like build more habitats. I also like my teacher to know that i like to work in groups.

this week in science #11

This week in science we did a lot of things like set up habitat. We did research on a spider called the cellar spider and saw what this spider liked and we put those tings in our tank. some of the things that we put in our tank was flowers a lot of dirt, rocks ,pieces of wood, and lots of water. We did los of digging in the park and we found a lot of worms and some maggot looking bugs. We up the bugs in the tank and we are going to see if the spider will eat them. But before we did all this stuff we did a little research on cycles. We looked at 8 different cycles and we made question about what they were about and what the cycles do to earth.

This week in science i learned that the spiders that we are studying like a lot of things. The spiders like the dark. Also the spiders are poisonous but only if you keep on messing with the spider it will bite you. The spiders like wet areas and they like to eat insects. I also learned that they can spin weds really quick.

this week in science # 13

If we were to leave these spider habitat tanks sealed but removed all of the plants lots of things might happen. Some of the things that might of happen are no glucose, photosynthesis, energy,or oxygen. Then after that the spiders might just die of to much of carbon dioxide because they wouldn't have enough oxygen. From the plants being removed it would just kill the whole tank. Then also if the plants die there would not be any kind of good clean air for the spiders.

this week in science # 12

This week in science I did a lot I got a tank and put spiders in them. Then when we got the spiders we feed them fruit flies. Then after we finished feeding the spider the fruit flies we made books to keep track with what the spiders would do all week. Then Sebastian and I put like 6 more spiders in the tank and see if all of them would fight to the death. But they didn't they all got along. But sometimes the smaller spiders would get picked on by the big spiders.

This week in science I learned that spiders dont really eat a lot and the like to stay in high places. Also it is easier for the spiders to catch fruit flies because fruit flies do not fly. Fruit flies cant fly because they are genetically engineered not to fly. I also learned that our spiders dont really like water. We put some food in the water and none of the spiders would eat it then when one spider fell in it as really hard for it to get out. I also learned that our spiders dont bite a lot and they a'rent deadly.

this month in science #10

This month in science I did a survey. I had to go around and ask people some questions. Some of the questions were like what do you mostly travel by or how long do you use water. We had to ask questions about how people saved or wasted energy. Then when we had all of our data we had to compare it and see if some people did the same thing as others or if some people do something totally different. Then after that we had to separate in to 4 groups. The groups were transportation, water, energy, and waste. When we made the groups we had to do lots of research on our topics. Then some people from the human impact group came and told us we had to make some kind of catchy logo for our topic and draw it out. We did all that and now we are going to have to make the logo into a t- shirt. Thats some of the things we did this month.

This month I learned that people waste so much energy and they dont even know it. Like lets say you leave your phone charger plugged in you are wasting energy. So I learned that everything you plug into a wall sometime later in your day you should plug it out. I also learned that most people like to recycle. I thought most people just threw there junk on the floor but some people really took that topic serious. I also learned that most people take the train and car to work. That means that all the people that are taking cars are polluting the world with all that bad air coming out of the back of the car. I learned that the most energy used is when people use there phones. I learned something new about phones is that people use it a lot most people use there phone from 100% until its dead 0%.

Human Impact Ad Campaign

This show how some people can use energy and just waste it and then at the end they will see what will happen. People sometimes uses energy until there is a black out or something goes wrong. Until we use out all the energy they people will really see Watts the problem!

this week in science #9

This week in science we did a experiment that involved us cutting into some animals. I had to cut open a skate and take out the lungs, heart ,guts, and a lot of other nasty things. When i had to cut it open the rib cage was pretty hard to cut open. It took me some time to cut it open and then i had to take my hand and try to rip the skates flesh open. Then when i did open it i had to dish out some of the water that got stuck in side of the skate was that was pretty nasty. I cut off the tall and it was cool it had tons of spikes on it. So that's what i did in science.

This week in science i learned that the skate is in the ray and shark family. I think that is awesome that's pretty cool. I also learned that the skate has lots of spikes on its body so if any animal tries to eat it the animal would get hurt. I learned there is over 1000 different kinds of skates in this world. The skate has sharp teeth but they are very small.

We had to dissect the skate and the perch. Some of the structures to me that was the same was the skin flesh whatever you want to call it but it was really hard to cut through. They both had small sharp teeth and they both some strong and long gills. Then some things that were different was that the skate you had to cut ope the gills o see inside and it was kinds hard but the perch we just ripe it open like nothing. Also the skate has lots of spikes on top of its body and the perch had lots of scales.

This Week in Science #8

PARAGRAPH 1
This week in science we learned lots of new vocabulary words like dorsal. Dorsal means the back of the animal where ever the animal has a spine. We also learned the word ventral which means the front view of something well its just the front of a animal. Also the word proximal means the distance between two things like your shoulder and fingers. We also learned about distal which mean the location of a body part like where the heart is for the craw fish. The environment craw fish lived in was a smelly wet area cause  when we took it apart it was one stinky craw fish. The craw fish had lots of features like orange guts, big claws, and a very weird mouth. The craw fish adapted tot there environment because they can walk and also go in water they have gills to prove that.

PARAGRAPH 2
My aha moments were when i found the craw fish lungs. It took me for ever to find them thanks to Jamie i found them. The craw fish cuts were orange. ewww. I had a aha moment when i realized that the craw fish didn't smell like craw fish. that was the biggest aha moment for me. I had a aha moment when i found out that i should of done the cricket. The craw fish reminded me of a lobster. The craw fish is a smaller version.Plus more people eat lobster than craw fish. I also noticed that the craw fish has a stomach that is almost up to there mouth.

this week in science #7

This week in science we did a project on the arctic tundra. We had to do lots of research and look up lots of things to put on our slide show. Well the project took about 3 weeks. But to me the project was really fun and i wouldn't mind to do it again. Then when we mad the slide show we had to do  a digital story. The digital story was fun because it was our voices reading what we wrote. Then we listened to each others slides. It was really cool.

This week in science i learned about the arctic tundra and its amazing features.I learned about the arctic tundra's climate and animals. I had to do a paragraph on the climate and i learned that the sun is out but that doesn't do no good it is like -19f in the arctic tundra. Also the arctic tundra is part of the global warming issue. Every day a little portion of ice is just melting away.I also had to write about the wolverine. I learned that the wolverine eats animals but no animals eat the wolverine. That is pretty cool. The wolverine has so many amazing body features. The wolverine has very sharp teeth for hunting, very sharp claws for hunting and catching fish, and lots of fur to protect them fro the cold weather.
